Worshiping in Times of Battle

You don’t think this life gives you a fairy tale-like story, do you? When I was a little girl, I love the story of Cinderella, when after all her heartaches, after all her hardships, after all, that she went through, life gave her a happy ending. Found her prince, and just live happily ever after.I like the idea of being a princess and have your prince right there waiting, who wouldn’t like that?
Well, guess what? Fairy tale isn’t real and you just got to accept that. I have nothing against reading and watching those kinds of stories, I love them too. But if you will check what the word fairy tale means, Merriam Webster described it as “a made-up story usually designed to mislead.”
In real life, there are happy endings, there are just people who were born not to have so many problems, but really? Who would know that? How does anyone define what problems are? How do we know the gravity of an issue to one’s life? How can we say that my problem is easier than yours? We can’t, we can only say so much but nobody knows what the other person is experiencing. Is he already depressed, losing hope, or is he coping up and moving on?
I always ask, how should we deal with every circumstance in life? When no one is understanding us, when no one can comprehend what we’re going through. Back out? No, there’s no chance that you can just back out and ignore what’s happening. Backing out is not an option, I wish it is, but no – it’s there, face it.
I heard a song from Tony Sutherland, and my favorite by far. It says, When the fear is growing in me and the pain is more than I can bear. This is true, there are times when we just want to shut off everything, there are times when we just want to go back to someplace surrounded by emptiness, there are times when we don’t want to be with anyone else when we want to be alone, miserable and just end it. But it was also mentioned in that song, “I'll just worship You, I'll trust everything You do, I'll just lift my hands and worship You.”
And I said, why? I began to question why will I worship Him in times of trouble, in times when I can’t get any help from Him, in times when it seemed He’s far? And I also found the answer. He is God, no matter what. He is God, no matter what the circumstances are, He is God and he can change everything in a flick of a finger, He is God and He gives blessings. Sometimes, we’re given a bunch of troubles not realizing that those troubles will make us a better person, will make us a better decision maker, will give us more blessings, will open more opportunities, will just simply change us.
So friends, in times of harvest and in times of battles, let’s all worship the God of heavens.
